Let's face it: the "Transport, sir" question comes anywhere you walk in Bali. Transport in tourist tour buses or "Kijang" MPVs in Bali can be very cheap. Good luck to you! But don't bless the day before sunset.
Some of the local "guides" actually do have a driving license, even good tires, functioning brakes and air conditions, even working lights, and a few of them will NOT take you on "short cuts" to their friends' or relatives' tourist traps, and maybe you even find the one guy who speaks rudimentary English and does not take you on a commission hunting tour. Not to destinations teeming with tourists on tourist roads to tourist restaurants and tourist shopping at "very special" tourist prices at tourist opening hours. Not wasting your valuable holiday time and your hard earned money in tourist Bali. Good luck! Maybe you also hit the jackpot in the lottery or at the Casino?
